Quality Approaches

FSC® Policy

Our goal is to operate without engaging in any activities deemed unacceptable by the FSC®, either directly or indirectly. We use legal wood, forest products, and licensed recycled raw materials in our production activities. We adhere to a sustainable approach by using recycled products without utilizing trees with high conservation value as inputs. We do not use genetically modified organisms in forestry operations. We ensure that our employees are employed in accordance with the rights defined in the ILO (International Labour Organization) declaration. (FSC.PT.001/RV02)

FSC® Core Labor Requirements Policy

As Varaka, we respect the fundamental human rights of our employees, in line with international human rights principles, particularly the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We conduct our activities in a manner that protects these rights.

We provide a working environment where the economic, social, and individual rights of our employees are safeguarded within the legal framework set by the laws and regulations of the Republic of Turkey.

We do not tolerate any form of discrimination among our employees based on belief, language, ethnicity, gender, personal preferences, or similar factors. We ensure that our personnel work under fair conditions that do not allow discrimination.

We evaluate and support all our employees equally in matters such as recruitment, career development, wage policy, and social rights.

We establish and strictly enforce working and disciplinary rules that ensure no employee is subjected to any physical or psychological pressure, whether from their colleagues or managers.

We do not permit any practices indicative of forced or compulsory labor (including physical and sexual violence, repayment of debts through labor instead of money, withholding wages/employment fees, requiring deposits to begin employment, restricting mobility, withholding passports and identification documents, or threats of reporting to authorities). Employment relationships are based on voluntariness and mutual consent, without the threat of penalties. We do not tolerate any discrimination in employment or profession.

Our organization defines the rights of individuals working within our company in accordance with legal requirements and international principles, including working hours, salary policies, employment rights, and rights arising from occupational health and safety regulations. We do not employ any new employee without providing social security rights and do not permit the employment of child labor, children under the age of 15, individuals in jobs that are not suitable for their health, or forced labor. In accordance with national laws and regulations, we do not allow anyone under the age of 18 to engage in hazardous or heavy work, except for educational purposes.

As Varaka, in addition to protecting the rights of our employees guaranteed by national and international laws and principles, we organize training and social events to support their personal and professional development. We consider the well-being and happiness of each employee a success criterion for our organization and prioritize employee satisfaction at the highest level. (FSC.PT.002/RV01)
